8 Yard machine stitched Kilt

These kilts are made in SCOTLAND by St Kilda Holdings in Glasgow. Use our Tartan Finder to browse the widest available range of tartans, all from Scottish mills, and in a variety of weights. These kilts are fully canvas lined and made with either 2 or 3 buckles to ensure an excellent fit. 

Our machine stitched kilts are made exactly the same way as our traditional hand sewn kilts, only machined to speed up the process! The kilt is machine stitched and hand finished from 8 yards of worsted wool, available in our full range of tartans from Lochcarron of Scotland, Marton Mills, Strathmore Woollens and House of Edgar. Please note that costs vary depending on the mill and tartan range. Kilt pin and sporran may be purchased separately. 

Some of the less common tartans may need to be specially woven. Should this be the case the weaving time can be up to 8 weeks with a further 2 weeks making time. Kilts under this category will generally have additional costs but we will of course notify you if this is the case, and do our utmost to ensure the kilt is delivered on time.

Measuring guide

Waist:

Take this firmly around the actual waist (navel height)

Seat:

More comfortably around the widest part of the hips (seat)

Length:

From 2” above the hip bone (almost under your rib cage), to the top of the knee cap.

(It’s best to have someone else take this measurement for you while you look straight ahead)

Overall height:

This measurement gives us a good indication if the kilt length measurement given is correct.
